Last month saw P2zero process a record number of assessments. In July we reported on the scope 2 and 3 emissions of over 400,000 devices, including laptops, desktops, monitors, servers, networking devices, smartphones and printers.
The projects were undertaken across the private and public sector as well as in Higher Education, reflecting the increased focus on baselines, carbon reduction plans and sustainable procurement.

As sustainability becomes ever more important in financial and professional services we completed sustainability analysis projects for two of the world's "big four" accountancy firms. P2zero were engaged to look at their options around procurement of new devices including laptops, servers, printers and displays.

Continuing our collaboration with Imperial, P2zero and partners Carbon3IT ran a data centre workshop for the Imperial College data centre team. We covered a wide range of topics from compliance, legislation and best practice to bench marking and reporting, including lessons learned from other Higher Education customers.

P2zero lead consultant Tony Sudworth has been selected as the Green Party candidate for Gosport with 83% of the vote.
Tony is an active campaigner for the Green Party and Greenpeace and we wish him every success in representing the citizens of Gosport in the upcoming general election.

We were delighted to hold a sustainability workshop for IT staff at UCB in Belgium following the kick-off of our project for the leading multi-national pharmaceuticals company. UCB employs around 9,000 people from its headquarters in Belgium and across nearly 40 countries worldwide.

P2zero were very pleased to be invited to the Science Museum in London to participate in the inaugural Government Digital Sustainability Alliance summit.
The event brought together a very diverse set of government suppliers and advisors from large-scale SIs to specialist consultancies.

Our new look P2zero logo (designed by Suzanne Taylor), identity and website were launched this week, reflecting our focus on helping organisations deliver against their sustainability and Net Zero commitments.
We also received confirmation that we have sole rights to use P2zero having registered the name as our trade mark.

Following on from our recent benchmarking project P2zero were invited to present a sustainability "lunch and learn" session for the ICT team at Imperial College London. As well as P2zero's CEO Ewen Anderson the session featured Imperial's Harriet Wallace (Director of Sustainability Strategy) and Tim Green (Academic Lead for Sustainability and Professor of Electrical Power Engineering).

Our ongoing engagement with specialist IT solution provider Academia was reviewed in a session with the senior management team.
P2zero presented the results of our supply chain sustainability analysis and commuting survey, together with an update on the overall carbon footprint analysis and carbon reduction plan.

Our "cost and carbon" pathways project for Travis Perkins came to a conclusion with a presentation of the findings to a workshop of the senior IT leadership team. The project examined a number of strategic options for the organisation's workplace strategy from both a business case and a sustainability perspective.

We are very pleased to have been engaged by ACER UK to assess their scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions for last year and to help them update their carbon reduction plan for 2024. The project will include analysis of the emissions from ICT, business travel, commuting, premises and waste.

Recognising the close ties with Warwick University we were excited to attend the alumni event for entrepreneurs who have been supported by the University of Warwick Science Park's "Ignite" programme. The events encourage businesses who have had their start-up at the university to share knowledge and experiences.

We were very pleased to support Computacenter in delivering the sustainability section of an end user computing strategy session for the London Borough of Brent. As well as showcasing different devices the workshop examined some of the sustainability challenges facing local government in the transition to Net Zero.

P2zero's Ewen Anderson and Tony Sudworth ran a series of sustainability workshops for systems integrator Telefonica Tech in London. These included an "all hands" overview on sustainability and specific workshops on customer issues and data centres.

Imperial College, ranked 7th place in the world university ranking and 3rd place in the UK has engaged P2zero to provide a carbon footprint assessment of their workplace devices and printing. The project, which will conclude in 2024 will include evaluation of scope 2 and 3 emissions plus assessment of options for future carbon reduction as part of their Net Zero strategy.

We were delighted to have the opportunity to present an update on IT sustainability to the Sales Campaigns and Frameworks team at Computacenter. The team helps many UK organisations with their technology selection so this was a great opportunity to refresh the importance of making sustainability part of the criteria.
